Diamond treatment
Altering a diamond to move toward a colorless grade can improve its valuation. Existing techniques, such as High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT), use pressures varying from 5 Gigapascals to 11 GPa and temperatures from 1100 Degrees Celsius to over 3,000 Degrees Celsius. Currently, toroidal presses dominate the market, promising the best results and excellent turnover times.

As everyone has been told, diamonds are a girl’s best friend and are graded according to color, cut, clarity, carat weight, and certification, a.k.a. the five Cs. But not all diamonds need be culled from a mine. Welcome to the 21st Century.
The high pressure high temperature (HPHT) technique for creating a diamond is based on the diamond synthesis method, which was first achieved on February 16, 1953, in Stockholm by ASEA. The technique was better refined through decades of work by Kyiv’s V. Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Here, knowledge was gathered about the pressure and the temperature required for optimal results to synthesize laboratory-grown diamonds. NDSF cooperates closely with many Ukrainian scientists to create new recipes for Ib, IIa, and IIb diamonds.

A fraction of the world's diamonds are used for jewelry. Diamonds are abrasive and valuable for grinding and drilling. In the near future, computers or cell phones will use diamond semiconductors. Diamonds are multi-faceted...

NSDF is proud to enter the Surat diamond market.

We developed a new company based in the heart of the diamond industry, Surat, Gujarat, India, with the first installation of our latest model, the NM2000-T, the newest standard in HPHT technology available. The NM2000T is now operating at the Surat Diamond Bourse in Gujarat, India. Our colleagues are currently on site to provide in-house staff training, ensuring that our clients have the best results in the industry.

A novel dual-loader shuttle cart provides the HPHT treatment system with extra throughput. Now, one matrix system is cleaned and prepared for the next batch of diamonds while the other set is treated inside the machine. This new design by NDSF cuts the matrix exchange during HPHT Treatments in half. The improved cooler system is more durable and can withstand the forces applied during the many cycles that the machines run each day. Efficiency is critical: the excessive heat is extracted immediately from the tungsten support plates and the matrixes, thus making sure that each component lasts longer.

Local production of consumables for diamond treatment will ensure that we provide the best logistic services for our customers, with no delays by customs or lost shipping containers.
Our well-trained colleagues will be available to provide the necessary maintenance to ensure the least machine downtime in the HPHT industry.

Nederlandse Druk-Synthese Fabrieken BV, or NDSF for short, is a Dutch supplier of HPHT equipment for synthesizing diamonds and the treatment of natural and laboratory-grown diamonds, creating diamonds in hours instead of eons. NDSF’s unique capability is to have in-house knowledge of machine design combined with intrinsic expertise in the core principles of HPHT techniques.
